Just another dive in Paradise

Thursday I went out on another dive at Shark’s Cove as a DMC.  It was another great day.  As usual the sun was shining and the trade winds were blowing.  I love it!  We had a typical group of 6, one of which was completing a specialty.  I arrived as early as I could and helped prep for the arrival of our guests.

One of the really great things about being a DMC or any other dive professional is meeting new people.  Meeting them is just the beginning though.  It’s my privelage to be able to show them the under water world here in Hawaii and, more specifically, the north shore.  I really love seeing people enjoy themselves under the water and it’s great to see their enthusiasm when we return to shore.  They often talk about all the things they see under there with great pleasure.

We always see all kinds of fish.  Some of the common ones are the tangs of all kinds, achilles tangs, yellow tangs etc.  We see lots of wrasse, parrot fish, goat fish, hawk fish and a multitude of others.  My instructor really likes nutabranchs and he is really good at spotting those.

At least as cool as the fish is the under water landscape.  Shark’s cove has so many awesome lava tubes and arches to look around.  You really never know what you will encounter and that’s the amazing thing about diving.  Each time is a little different.

I’m thoroughly enjoying me time in the water.  You know what they day “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”.  That’s exactly what diving is!
